1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, including:

• Account information: Your email address and password when you register
• Profile information: Your name, your co-parent's name, and responses to our intake quiz
• Tool data: Information you enter into our tools including asset values, budget figures, custody schedules, and checklist progress
• Communications: Any messages you send to our support team

We do not collect Social Security numbers, dates of birth, credit card numbers, bank account numbers, or other sensitive financial identifiers. You should never enter this information into Reroot.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Reroot platform
• Personalize your experience based on your profile and quiz answers
• Sync your data across devices when you are logged in
• Send you transactional emails (account verification, password reset)
• Respond to your comments and questions
• Monitor and analyze usage patterns to improve the platform

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database provider. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to your data is controlled by row-level security policies — only you can read or write your own data.

While we implement reasonable security measures, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

4. Sharing of Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information with:

• Service providers: Third-party vendors who help us operate the platform (for example, Supabase for our database and Netlify for hosting), and, when paid subscriptions are active, a third-party payment processor that handles billing. These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and confidentiality obligations.
• Affiliate and referral partners: If you choose to click an affiliate link or request a referral to an outside provider, that provider will receive the information you choose to share with them directly. We do not transmit your tool data (such as your budget, assets, or custody schedule) to affiliate partners.
• Legal requirements: If required by law or in response to valid legal process.
• Co-parent sharing: If you generate a share link for a tool (such as the custody calendar), anyone with that link can view the shared content. See Section 5.

5. Co-Parent Data Sharing

Reroot offers optional sharing features that let you generate a private link so another person — typically a co-parent — can view specific content you choose to share, such as your custody calendar. Current sharing is view-only: the person you share with can see the content but cannot change it, and no account is required on their end. Anyone who has the link can view the shared content, so share it only with people you intend to. You may revoke a share link at any time from the relevant tool, after which the link will no longer work. If we introduce editable shared features in the future, we will describe how they work before you enable them.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at privacy@rerootlife.com or using the Delete Account option in Settings. Upon deletion, your data will be permanently removed within 30 days.

7. Cookies

We use session cookies to keep you logged in and to maintain your preferences. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can instruct your browser to refuse cookies, but this may affect functionality.

8. Children's Privacy

Reroot is not directed to children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us immediately.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, export, or delete your information. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@rerootlife.com.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
